What a week this past week has been!

It took off great and then came Monday evening and it was time for my kids baseball in the country. I asked Lynden to bring his dog, Raskel in from outside. On nice days, I put Raskel out so she can soak up the sun. She is 8 years old and I want her to keep getting sunlight, even though she is a inside dog.

Lynden, came back inside and had a worried look on his face. He told me that Raskel was not outside! For the past couple of months, someone has been coming into the yard and letting her off of her chain. On those occasions, she could always be found in the flowerbed by dusk and we would let her back inside. This time was different, this time, she did not return home.

We left for baseball and I assured Lynden that she would be back and felt my heart drop when we returned and she was not there. Over the coarse of the next three days, I drove across town, up and down the road, slowly, betting I would find Raskel walking down the sidewalk. After almost a week, she was nowhere to be found.

Then I got word that she may have been found up the street and could be seen from the alley behind a home that was being remodeled. I took off up the road and after an hour of walking, looking and hoping, I did not find her.

Then came Sunday! As Ethan, Rylen and I left for dinner, Lynden was staying at his mother’s house because he had had an oral surgery on his wisdom teeth and was still recovering. It was then that I looked up the alley and thought I may have seen Raskel. We drove down the alley and on the back deck of the remodeled home was Raskel!! I could not be happier to find her and could see she was happy to see us!

We took her back home and I asked Lynden to come down for a moment, but did not tell him why.

The moment his eyes seen Raskel, he dove to the floor and a 13 year old boy was the happiest he had ever been! He threw his arms around her and hugged her for five minutes. The week began great and finished great but in-between, was growth!

Work was busy, ready for evenings to begin in August and for schools to get back in session so Barney & Lexi and The Lizard Wizard can meet more students and inspire them to create!!

Although school is out for the summer, it WILL NOT slow this author down! I just got an e-mail, letting me know that an article I have written for Tri-State OUTDOORS Magazine is past the layout process and will go to print very soon and is scheduled for a July 1st release date!

Last night, I began work on my outline for my presentation with the SCBWI in Chicago, this September. I might only get one shot at an opportunity like this and am gong to shoot for the moon, because even if I miss, I’ll still find myself among the stars!

With some needed e-mails sent out and work caught up to this moment, I am heading out with Lynden, Ethan and Rylen, to watch them play baseball in the country league, Chauncey Community Baseball. I hope everyone has a great evening and wonderful Tuesday!

I was able to write page an half of The Boondock Kids and with that, planning to take a jog before picking up my kids for the weekend. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

With dinner underway, The Boondock Kids begin to explain that Kelmare is taking them to Serabantha Castle and to see Queen Zardanin.

This concerned Rascone until Kelmare explained that they would be looking throw a telescope from the safe distance of Raven Pass. It was then questioned about the safety of the kids journey when Rascone explained that Queen Zardanin was not on her throne by those of Spyderia but, by her own force through her ability to control magic in order to control others.

Kelmare then lightened the discussion by explaining that they were going to be able to still view the queen safely because most of the time, she was not one to put others in danger and only did so when her reign was threatened by others.

Rascone explained that she held control of the Zephermyte Army and that would likely secure her reign until her time comes to pass naturally.

Surprisingly, The Boondock Kids remain just as intrigued to see her. Kelmare explained that he hoped to use his telescope to view one of the queens daily appearance ceremonies at the castle.

Life is all about dreams and making them come true. For my friend, Dr. Coyte G. Cooper, a bestselling author of the books: IMPRESSIONS and MAKE YOUR MARK and renown life coach, his dream was to be a speaker for a Ted Talk Seminar.

Come August, my friend will see that dream come true and being a god friend, my son, Lynden and I are gong to travel to Columbus, Ohio and support Coyte all the way as he brings his A-Game to Ohio to inspire others.

Combine that with my trip to Chicago this September, which I am also taking Lynden, I am very proud to know that I am giving my 13 year old son a chance to see so many positive experiences and hope they leave a inspiring mark on his already budding outlook on life.

Never be afraid to better yourself. Here’s to the future, mine and yours!!

With school now out for the summer, my evening job has turned into a day job for the next 9 weeks. Instead of having my usual routine from 2 thru 10:30 p.m. it begins at 6 a.m. and runs thru 2:30 p.m. as I am a part of a cleaning crew that is traveling through our three schools and cleaning classrooms, bathrooms and gyms while students are away.

That has not kept me from my daily motivational speeches though! I bought a wireless earpiece and listen to my motivation while still being able to hear around me. Nor has it slowed me from my work! My Chicago trip to the SCBWI is almost set for a specific September date, my illustrations for THE LIZARD WIZARD have begun with Illustrator, Avery Kasinger and today, I received an e-mail from a regional magazine editor, letting me know that an article I had recently submitted for print had been accepted by the magazine and will print for a July release.

Also looking at traveling to a TEDx seminar in Columbus this August and taking Lynden, who is now a freshman in high school and give him an amazing chance to feel such an strong and positive seminar. My good friend, Dr. Coyte Cooper will be a speaker at this event and I want to show my support for my friend!

All and all, a great way to end out the month of May! Happy Summer everyone!

The date is not yet official, but I have been invited to travel to Chicago in September and speak to members of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. I have always want to attend one of these meetings and never thought in 13 years that I would be speaking at my first one. I hope by then that I will have my 8th book, a bedtime story entitled ‘The Lizard Wizard” finished enough to showcase it and Barney & Lexi during my presentation. One look at where I believe I will be speaking and I am excited and grateful. Hard work and more hard work can pay off, you just have to keep working and keep believing!

This morning, I woke up with an idea and after some thought, I sat down and wrote my first bedtime story.

Entitled: The Lizard Wizard, it follows Issac, the pet lizard as he searches the house for the lost green and blue socks. Room by room he must search in order to help his family.
